As a branch councillor for the Australian Dental Association NSW, Dr Vergara met with our Federal MP for Robertson, Dr Gordon Reid earlier this week to present to him the Australian Dental Association's (ADA) proposal for the Federal Government to address the urgent need for additional, targeted, and sustainable funding to meet the oral and dental health care needs of our most vulnerable cohort, older Australians. As the peak body for dentistry whose members are well versed in understanding the problems, the ADA is advocating for a Senior Dental Benefits Scheme to ensure our older community members receive the essential dental care they need. With support from the federal government, we can help improve oral health and well-being for our seniors. Everyone deserves a healthy smile in their golden years. Led by our wonderful Clinical Coordinator, Liesl, we focused on essential infection control practices and standards expected. From checking our hands and nails, to setting up and packing down a surgery, to role playing of various scenarios, it was packed with eye opening information. It’s vital that we stay updated on the best procedures to ensure the safety of both our patients and staff. Investing on ongoing education helps us maintain the highest standards of care in our practice. 🙏🏼🙌🏼 💡Did you know?…. Liesl was trained and worked as a school teacher in prior years! 🧑‍🏫 This totally showed in her very organised, structured and fun way of teaching!
