Can you believe that the summer holidays are already over and the kids are back to school once again? I don't know about you, but for me, the weeks seemed to have flown by, especially here on the Central Coast where beach days are just a stone's throw away! No wonder it shocked me that we are back to the grind, the school routine of packing lunches, swimming carnivals, parent information nights, and filling up the family diary once more with notable dates to remember. Breathe. We can do this.
Since you're filling up the diary with this year's schedule, this is my friendly reminder to include your family's regular dental check-ups too. We are conveniently located here in the Erina CBD.
If your family is covered by the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS), ie the free dental provided to eligible families through Medicare, here's some good news! The benefit limit has increased to $1052 (from $1000) that can be utilised over a 2 year period, and now covers children from 0 years of age.
Who can get it?
Your child can get CDBS when all of the following applies: -
they're eligible for Medicare
they're between 0 and 17 years old for at least one day that calendar year
you or they get an eligible payment from Services Australia at least once that calendar year
You will receive a letter advising your family of eligibility. If you're unsure, you can check with Medicare.
